INMMiC Call for Papers (Deadline: Jan 9, 2011)

The workshop on Integrated Nonlinear Microwave and Millimetre-wave Circuits (INMMiC) will be held at Vienna University of Technology on April 18th – 19th, 2011. After earlier successful workshops in 2004 in Rome, 2006 in Aveiro, 2008 in Màlaga, and 2010 in Göteborg INMMiC offers again a forum for promoting, discussing and spreading ideas in the field of Nonlinear Microwave and Millimetre-wave circuits.

Technical papers describing methodological and practical issues on active device characterisation and modelling strategies, CAD analysis methods and design approaches are solicited, according to the Conference Topic List. The participation of young researchers is strongly encouraged. Young Researcher Grants will support their participation in the Workshop. The Best Student Paper Award will be supported by the GAAS Association by 1,000 € and the GAAS Silver Plaque.

TOPICS:
Contributions are welcome within, but not restricted to, the following topics: Nonlinear measurement techniques, Nonlinear devices and subsystems modelling strategies, Nonlinear noise characterisation and modelling, Nonlinear analysis methods, CAD tools and stability analysis, Optimum design methodologies for nonlinear circuits, Linearity issues and linearisation techniques, Power amplifier efficiency enhancement techniques and emerging transmitter architectures, Nonlinearities at THz frequencies, characterisation, modelling and applications

Nominations for IEEE Awards

The IEEE Awards Program provides peer recognition to individuals whose contributions to the art and science of electro- and information technologies worldwide have improved the quality of life. The IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society members may be particularly interested in the following Technical Field Awards, whose nomination deadlines are 31 January 2011. The awards typically consist of a bronze medal, certificate and cash honorarium.

  • IEEE Electromagnetics Award for outstanding contributions to electromagnetics in theory, application or education
  • IEEE Joseph F. Keithley Award in Instrumentation and Measurement for outstanding contributions in electrical measurements
  • IEEE Photonics Award for outstanding achievement(s) in photonics.
  • IEEE Frederik Philips Award for outstanding accomplishments in the management of research and development resulting in effective innovation in the electrical and electronics industry.
  • IEEE Eric E. Sumner Award for outstanding contributions to communications technology.
  • IEEE Kiyo Tomiyasu Award for outstanding early to mid-career contributions to technologies holding the promise of innovative applications.

Awards presented by the IEEE Board of Directors fall into several categories: The Medal of Honor, Medals, Technical Field Awards, Corporate Recognitions, Service Awards, and Prize Papers. The IEEE also recognizes outstanding individuals through a special membership category: IEEE Honorary Member.

Nominations are initiated by members and the public, and then reviewed by a panel of peers. Their recommendations are submitted to the IEEE Awards Board prior to final approval by the IEEE Board of Directors.

IEEE WAMICON Deadline Extended

We have extended our Call for Papers deadline to December 10.

The 12th annual IEEE Wireless and Microwave Technology (WAMI) Conference will be held on April 18 &19, 2011 at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort in beautiful Clearwater, Florida. The conference will address up-to-date multidisciplinary research needs and interdisciplinary aspects of wireless and RF technology. The program includes oral presentations, poster presentations, workshops and tutorials. Prospective authors are invited to submit original and high-quality work for presentation at the WAMI conference and for publication in its Conference Record. The technical program will cover wireless communication systems and RF technologies.
