New THz Journal

The IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT) is pleased to announce the introduction of a new journal specifically aimed at the frequency range between 300 GHz and 10 THz: IEEE Transactions on Terahertz Science and Technology - “Expanding the use of the Electromagnetic Spectrum”

The inaugural issue is being targeted for release in the fall of 2011. This issue will emphasize broad area review papers on break through THz technologies and applications. Potential contributors to the inaugural issue are urged to submit manuscripts in one or more of the topic areas listed below on or before March 1, 2011. Subsequent issues will be open to all relevant contributions. The paper submission, review and revision sequence will follow a simple electronic process accessible through www.thz.ieee.org. The site will be open for submissions on or around October 1. Please plan to take advantage of this new dedicated journal to highlight your THz research. For questions or further details contact us at thz.editors@ieee.org.

Topic areas for the transactions include all areas of THz science, technology and applications including:

  1. THz applications in astronomy, space, planetary, Earth and environmental science
  2. THz applications in biology and medicine
  3. THz applications in chemistry and ultrafast molecular interactions
  4. THz applications in security and defense
  5. THz high power and non-linear applications – plasma science, non-linear optics
  6. THz industrial and conservation applications and non-destructive evaluation
  7. THz imaging and remote sensing
  8. THz radar and communications
  9. THz instruments- frequency and time domain
  10. THz devices and MMICs – analog and digital
  11. THz sources and generation techniques – CW, pulsed, comb, time domain
  12. THz transmission – guided structures, quasi-optical components and techniques
  13. THz beam forming – quasi-optics, diplexers, arrays
  14. THz instruments
